White Crane Films is an independent film company currently based in Dharamsala in the North Indian Himalaya.

Much of our work has focused on the subject of Tibet, in all its dimensions, and has attempted to document, question and reflect on, the issues of exile, identity, culture and politics that confront the Tibetan people. We are also interested in exploring and examining that murky confluence where cultures come together, where tradition confronts modernity, where one leaves behind the past and the security of the familiar and strikes out boldly into the unknown. While we continue to pursue these concerns in our film work, we are also moving into new areas of creative expression, including video installations and architecture and archive-based projects.
